1 negative : safety ; 8 x 10 in.

Theodor Horydczak photographed Art Brown and his family in 1937. The image was made on safety film, a stable cellulose acetate negative that replaced the more flammable nitrate stock used earlier in photography.

Horydczak worked as a commercial photographer in Washington, D.C. His photographs are now held by the Library of Congress as a named collection.

The record indicates this was the third in a series of portraits showing the Brown family facing the camera. Beyond Art Brown's name and the family grouping, the archive provides no information about who these individuals were or what occasioned the portrait session.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
