Bogue Ford is from Wisconsin. Forms part of a group of field materials documenting Warde, Pat, and Bogue Ford performing Anglo-American songs on September 3, 1939, collected by Sidney Robertson Cowell in Boomtown [Central Valley], Shasta County, California.

The archive record identifies Bogue Ford as a Wisconsin native photographed during a September 3, 1939 collecting session in Boomtown, Shasta County, California. He performed Anglo-American songs alongside Warde and Pat Ford for Sidney Robertson Cowell.

Cowell directed the W.P.A. California Folk Music Project, which recorded and photographed traditional musicians across Northern California between 1938 and 1940. The project worked across immigrant communities rather than focusing on a single tradition, documenting performers from Armenian, Icelandic, Italian, Portuguese, Mexican, Irish, and Serbian backgrounds.

This portrait forms part of the field materials from the Boomtown session. The recordings and photographs from Cowell's project are held by the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
