Maurice E. Power, Attorney-at-Law, photographed in Visalia, California, circa 1888. Public-domain historical portrait by photographer E. M. Davidson.

Maurice E. Power practiced law in Visalia during the late 1880s. The photograph was made by E. M. Davidson around 1888.

Visalia is the principal town of Tulare County in California's San Joaquin Valley. The county was settled heavily in the later nineteenth century and became a farming region dependent on irrigated agriculture.

This portrait comes from the Tulare County Library's local history photograph collection, which documents ordinary residents and businesses rather than public figures. The collection was digitised through California Revealed, a statewide programme that makes historical material from California libraries and archives publicly available.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
