A portrait of Alexander Dill Scott and his first wife Mattie Scott.¶A. D. Scott came to Novato with his parents in 1881. In 1890 Scott built a two story general store on Grant Avenue. Upstairs was an open room that was used for community events like plays, dances and meetings. It was known as Scott's Hall and still exists.
