Please visit the California Revealed website to see the most complete and up-to-date version of this object: https://repository.californiarevealed.org/node/342625. This portrait of Mary Nead (?) is autographed to John Morrisey with the following note: "To Mr. Morrisey, with the best of wishes from a bit of Sunshine, Mary Nead, Oakland, June 18, 1912". Mary Nead (?) was likely a performer who crossed paths with John Morrissey as part of his work as the manager of the Orpheum San Francisco, the first Orpheum in the country and then in the Orpheum Circuit. As the photograph was autographed in Oakland, Nead was most likely in the area for a performance in Oakland and/or in San Francisco. Emigh Box 5
