Trovato is autographed to John Morrisey with the following note: "In remembrance of my pleasant engagement to my dear friend Mr. J. Morrisey. Sincerely yours, Sig. Trovato, the Texas Kid, San Francisco, July 10, 1910". Signor (?) Trovato was likely a musician (based on this photograph of him with an instrument) who had just finished a performing engagement at the Orpheum in San Francisco, where John Morrisey was the manager.
