1 photograph : albumen print ; mount 27 x 35 cm. | Photograph shows group portrait of Union veterans and National Guard soldiers at a Gettysburg reunion, some identified as Alfred Epher Hunt, Alfred W. Marks, Alfred G. Loyd, Edward Eichenlaub, Lewis T. Brown, and probably hospital steward Thomas W. Wallace.

The photograph shows Union veterans of Battery F, Pennsylvania Independent Light Artillery, also known as Hampton's Battery, gathered with members of Battery B, Pennsylvania National Guard at a monument dedicated to combined batteries C and F at Gettysburg. The group includes men identified as Alfred Epher Hunt, Alfred W. Marks, Alfred G. Loyd, Edward Eichenlaub, Lewis T. Brown, and probably hospital steward Thomas W. Wallace.

William H. Tipton made the image during an 1894 reunion. By this date, three decades after the war, such gatherings were common occasions for veterans to return to battlefields and dedicate monuments.

The Grand Army of the Republic, founded in 1866 as a fraternal organisation for Union veterans, organised reunions and memorial observances for decades following the war. Members wore distinctive uniforms and badges to encampments and parades, which accounts for elderly men in later portraits appearing in regalia rather than their original military dress.

The photograph is an albumen print mounted on a backing measuring 27 by 35 centimeters. It is held by the Library of Congress.
