Two Czechoslovakian families photographed upon arrival in New York aboard the Holland-America liner Vendaam in 1939, while traveling onward to Montreal. The photograph shows five people identified as John Pavlov, Mrs. Helen Pavlov, Mrs. Alzbeta Rohal, Anna Rohal, and a fifth person whose name the record does not complete.

The circumstances of their journey, their reasons for leaving Czechoslovakia, and what became of them in Montreal remain unrecorded in the archive documentation.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
