1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

A glass plate negative from Arnold Genthe's studio depicting a portrait of a woman identified as Miss Calhoun.

Genthe worked in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before relocating to New York. The Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio following his death in 1942.

The negative measures five by seven inches, a standard commercial format for studio portraiture in this period. The 1909 date places the sitting within Genthe's San Francisco years, though the record provides no further details about the sitter's identity beyond her surname and the honorific Miss.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
