1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed this group portrait in 1911, the final year he maintained his San Francisco studio before relocating to New York. The glass plate negative measures 5 by 7 inches.

The subjects are identified only as the Casserley group. No further information about them appears in the archive record.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style throughout his career. After his death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits like this one, alongside more than 400 photographs of San Francisco's Chinatown and hundreds of dance images.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
