1 negative : nitrate ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed a woman identified as Mrs. Deneville in 1920. The portrait was taken on nitrate film and survives as a 5 x 7 inch negative.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. By 1920 he had relocated from San Francisco to New York, where he maintained his studio. The Library of Congress later acquired roughly 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio after his death in 1942.

The archive record provides no further information about the sitter's identity beyond the name Mrs. Deneville.
