1 negative : safety ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed the Babbott children in 1929. The negative is held at the Library of Congress as part of a large collection acquired from Genthe's studio after his death in 1942.

Genthe maintained a studio in New York during this period, having relocated from San Francisco in 1911. He worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style, producing thousands of studio portraits over a four-decade career. The Library of Congress collection includes roughly 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio.

The archive record identifies this as a 5 x 7 inch safety negative but provides no further information about the children or the circumstances of the sitting.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
