1 negative : safety ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed this group portrait in 1926. The negative, measuring five by seven inches, is a safety negative rather than the older nitrate type.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before relocating to New York, where he continued photographing into the 1940s.

After Genthe's death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside other work.

The record identifies the subjects as the Lanier group but provides no further information about them.
