1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed Miss Ginttard in 1907. The portrait was recorded on a 5 by 7 inch glass plate negative.

Genthe maintained a studio in San Francisco between 1896 and 1911, working in the soft-focus pictorialist style. This negative was made during that San Francisco period, roughly midway through his time in the city. After 1911 he relocated to New York and continued photographing into the 1940s.

The Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from Genthe's unclaimed studio following his death in 1942. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside extensive documentation of San Francisco's Chinatown, dance photography, and autochromes.

No further information about Miss Ginttard appears in the archive record.
