1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed Miss Estelle Shepherd in 1907. The portrait was taken on a glass plate negative measuring five by seven inches.

Genthe maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911, working in the soft-focus pictorialist style. This negative is part of a collection of roughly 20,000 items from his studio that the Library of Congress acquired after his death in 1942.

The record identifies the sitter only as Miss Estelle Shepherd. No further information about her is provided in the archive's documentation.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
