1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed Miss Enid Gregg in 1907. The portrait was captured on a glass negative measuring five by seven inches.

Genthe maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911, working in the soft-focus pictorialist style. This portrait dates from the middle of that period. After leaving San Francisco, he relocated to New York and continued photographing into the 1940s.

The glass negative is now held by the Library of Congress, which acquired approximately 20,000 items from Genthe's unclaimed studio following his death in 1942.
