About this photograph
Arnold Genthe photographed this group portrait in 1913, the year he made New York his base after maintaining a San Francisco studio from 1896 to 1911. The glass plate negative measures 5 by 7 inches.
The record identifies the sitters only as the Warren group. No further details about their identity or the occasion for the portrait survive in the archive.
Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. The Library of Congress holds roughly 20,000 items from his studio, acquired after his death in 1942. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside his other work.
Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
