1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

This glass negative portrait was taken by Arnold Genthe in 1912. The subject is identified only as Miss Fassett.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style and maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before moving to New York. By 1912 he was working from his New York studio, where he continued photographing into the 1940s.

The Library of Congress acquired roughly 20,000 items from Genthe's unclaimed studio after his death in 1942. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside hundreds of other photographs.

No further details about the sitter or the circumstances of the sitting are recorded.
