1 negative : safety ; 5 x 7 in.

The Library of Congress holds this safety negative from Arnold Genthe's studio, measuring five by seven inches and dated to 1934.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before relocating to New York, where he continued photographing into the 1940s. After his death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired roughly 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio.

The record identifies the sitters as the Diebold twins but provides no further information about them. The collection from which this portrait comes includes several thousand studio portraits alongside extensive documentation of other subjects.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
