1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed the Dolly Sisters in 1916, producing a glass plate negative measuring five by seven inches. The negative is now held in the Library of Congress collection.

Genthe maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before relocating to New York, where he continued working into the 1940s. He worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style throughout his career. After his death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired roughly 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio, including several thousand studio portraits.

The record does not identify which of the Dolly Sisters appears in the photograph or provide detail about the sitting.
