1 negative : glass ; 5 x 7 in.

This glass plate negative was created by Arnold Genthe in 1916. The woman's identity was not recorded.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style and maintained a studio in New York during this period, having moved there from San Francisco in 1911. The Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio following his death in 1942.

The negative measures 5 x 7 inches. It forms part of a collection that includes several thousand studio portraits alongside other photographic work by Genthe.

Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
