1 negative : nitrate ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed Sigrid Holmquist in 1921. The portrait survives as a 5x7 inch nitrate negative in the Library of Congress.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911, then moved to New York, where he continued photographing into the 1940s.

The Library of Congress holds roughly 20,000 items from Genthe's studio, acquired after his death in 1942. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside his other work.
