1 negative : nitrate ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed a man identified as Mr. Kelekian in 1921. The photograph is a studio portrait preserved as a nitrate negative measuring 5 by 7 inches.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911, then relocated to New York, where he continued photographing into the 1940s.

The Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from Genthe's unclaimed studio after his death in 1942. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside other photographic work.

The record does not identify which Kelekian sat for this portrait or provide additional context about the circumstances of the sitting.
