1 negative : safety ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed this portrait of Margo in 1934. The negative was made on safety film and measured five by seven inches.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911, then moved to New York, where he continued working into the 1940s.

After Genthe's death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired approximately 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio. The collection includes several thousand studio portraits alongside other photographic work.

The record does not identify who Margo was or what occasioned the portrait sitting.
