1 negative : safety ; 5 x 7 in.

Arnold Genthe photographed this portrait of Margo in 1934. The image was captured on a five-by-seven-inch safety negative.

Genthe worked in the soft-focus pictorialist style. He maintained a studio in San Francisco from 1896 to 1911 before relocating to New York, where he continued photographing into the 1940s. After his death in 1942, the Library of Congress acquired roughly 20,000 items from his unclaimed studio.

The record does not identify Margo beyond her first name or indicate whether this was a professional sitting or the nature of her connection to the photographer.
