About this photograph
This glass negative portrait of Mr. Tapp was created by Arnold Genthe in 1914. By that year Genthe had relocated his studio from San Francisco to New York, where he would continue working for another three decades.
The record provides no further information about the sitter. The negative forms part of a collection of roughly 20,000 items acquired by the Library of Congress from Genthe's unclaimed studio after his death in 1942.
Compiled from the catalogue record and reference notes on the formats and events involved. The archive record above is the primary source.
